This first post for assignment #1 is my first blog... EVER...
And so it goes...
I was not sure what to do with this assignment because there are so many stories to tell and pictures to show. So, I decided to take a few snaps of Jerusalem and make a controversy... just for fun.
I used iMOVIE. This is the first time I have used this program. It was straightforward. I decided not to use much text because I added audio. I will use Final Cut for future video editing assignments but I though I should try iMOVIE. The only real problem was using the internal microphone. It picked up all the noise of the computer. An external mic and the dynamic processing available in Final Cut would have a much better result. Also, I re-edited the photos to a smaller size and therefore a lower quality. I usually maximize everything for the sake of better quality but this first post was kind of a test for what smaller files look like. I am not sure why the youtube screen did not fit the video in the Quicktime MOV format. It looked bad, so, I converted the video to MPEG4 and it seems to work better.
The use of three media: text, sound, and images are a powerful combination. Mastery of their manipulation will lead to heightened engagement of students and improved learning outcomes.
